Between now and the end of July, we urgently need to raise £5,500 to create a vital online resource for schools globally. This resource will tackle the growing issues of conflict and violence towards 'others', fostering understanding and empathy worldwide.
Our new 'Theatre of Peace' production, 'The Missing Peace', is at the heart of this initiative. Developed with students from the University of Northampton, Narrative Alchemy, and the Positive Education Consortium, this applied theatre piece commemorates the 60th anniversary of the historic 1965 Cambridge University debate between James Baldwin and William F. Buckley Jnr on race and civil rights.
We've got the script, the talented postgraduate actors from the University of Northampton, the space, time, and recording equipment. What we need your help with is covering the essential costs: travel, accommodation, subsistence, and fees for our dedicated actors and crew.
Craig Green, co-author of the play, the missing peace, reading the final lines of Baldwin's speech at part of a rehearsed reading, in the Cambridge Union, in 2022 to launch 'The Missing Peace' applied theatre.

It's a terrible thing for an entire people to surrender to the notion that one-ninth of its population is beneath them. And until that moment, until the moment comes, when we, the Americans, we the American people, are able to accept the fact that I have to accept, for example, that my ancestors are both white and black, that on that continent we are trying to forge a new identity for which we need each other, and that I am not a ward of America, I am not an object of missionary charity, I am one of the people who built the country. Until this moment, there is scarcely any hope for the American dream because the people who are denied participation in it, by their very presence, will wreck it. And if that happens, it’s a very grave moment for the West.
