Paul Martin

Producer, Project Manager & Educator

Paul has had the opportunity to explore a number of interests in education and has particularly enjoyed working on project-based learning with students aged11 -18, transition between phases and the influence of creativity in all subject areas. He has been a practitioner in a range of the performing arts industries, starting in repertory theatre as a lighting and sound designer before progressing on to production management in exhibition, concert and festival venues. These ranged in size from village halls to Wembley Arena.

As a teacher, Paul spent 20 years working in all phases of education but specialised in secondary, teaching Drama, Film and Television and Technical Theatre courses. He has headed teams delivering vocational education and apprenticeship in the Performing Arts, Engineering, Business, Maths and English. He has been the lead in examination teams and contributed to the development of many examination syllabuses. He has facilitated several flagship projects for the DFE and Arts Council, exploring the best ways for arts organisations and education to develop practical partnerships and share expertise. As part of this role Paul worked alongside The National Theatre, The Royal and Derngate Theatres, Ludus Dance Company and Classworks Theatre.

Paul has managed major capital projects in education funded by both the DFE and the National Lottery. Since 2015 he has split his time between education consultancy, corporate film work, coaching corporate presentation technique, lecturing in higher education and performing arts documentary film making.
