Matthew Aldridge

Performance and education specialist.

Matt has recently joined Undiscovered Country. Immediately, he has seen the effects of the Butterfly model in his own and others’ lives.

Matt’'s background is in teaching and performing. He began his career as an actor in the 1980s by working in Theatre in Education and went on to perform in mainstream theatre and television. His theatrical experience led to his involvement in a number of training programmes, including working with the Home Office to develop the interactional skills of diplomats and with Shell in delivering team building seminars.

For the last 17 years Matt has been involved in education. He joined the UCL Institute of Education in 2000 where he completed a PGCE in English with Drama. He has been a teacher of English and Drama ever since.

In his spare time, Matt writes. He is in the process of editing his first novel and has begun his second. This has taught him that good writing is rewriting, reinforcing the concept that no idea or effort is wasted or has failed; it either needs development or heralds a new beginning. Matt is fascinated by language and still has much to learn.

Matt is passionate about people and the individual’s power to change. He believes that attitude can change outcomes.
